“Come, book lover, try some yerba mate and learn about Paraguay!” — Tucson Festival of Books, March 12, 2017
I’m excited to be heading soon to the Pacific Northwest, where I’ll be visiting old (in years only) schoolmates and promoting JOURNEY. Many thanks to my friend and fellow Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (and author) Kay Gillies Dixon for not only reading and reviewing the book, but also introducing it to her Spokane book club and inviting me to come talk about it!
Kay has written a delightful memoir called Wanderlust Satisfied about her Peace Corps experience and her time in Saudi Arabia with her husband and daughters. I reviewed it on Amazon (here). (For some reason I’m simply “Amazon Customer.”)
BTW, if you would like to post a review of JOURNEY on our Amazon page (here), please be our guest! We’d be much obliged.
This is my second talk to folks who have already read the book, so I’m anticipating some insightful questions. I’m indebted to Kay and her club members for buying books and helping to support Dr. Almada in his unceasing fight against impunity. (We’re thrilled that our book will be translated — “trans-created” — into Spanish soon! More about that later.)
